headphones in
during my many hours spent plugged into the wall, i have created a playlist for each of the substances represented in my specific chemo regimen, ABVD, in this, the #chemoplaylistseries. this guy represents the “A” of the big four, brand name adriamycin. adrimycin or doxorubicin, also known as the “red death”, is notorious amongst chemo patience for its virulence, its likeness to grenadine, and the ensuing crimson urine post treatment (always a fun surprise). its name describes the location of its discovery—the soil surrounding a 13th century Italian castle—and its striking ruby color. side effects include congestive heart failure ;)
a slow-moving sound with deep beats defines this mellow vibe, leaving you depressed, disoriented, and a little out of breath.
highlights: there were a lot of contenders. just listen to the damn thing.
Aquarium (Nosaj Thing) an unintelligible, soothing ballad (if you like ASMR or Explosions In The Sky)
Ex Calling (6LACK) a feeling we can all relate to, stark beats, aloof, & melodic
Tell Me What to Swallow (Crystal Castles) a little unnerving, thanks to the haunting chorals and what we now know about the band #FreeAliceGlass
Dangerous (Kid Cudi) a winner from SchoolboyQ’s latest project, featuring vocals and lyrics from Kid Cudi—expect a lot of distortion and that feeling of getting just a little too fucked up
Hurt (Johnny Cash) a cover of the OG Nine Inch Nails tune and better than the original
